OUR STORY
New hitters.
New challenges.
I started Matchup League because I’m a pitcher looking for new hitters to face.
I’m Oliver Stahl. I’m 16, and I’ve played baseball since T-ball. I love the game, but sometimes I get tired of facing the same people over and over. I want to see new hitters, take on new challenges, and find out how my game holds up against different competition.
That’s where Matchup League began. I wanted an easier way for pitchers to find hitters, and for hitters to find pitchers, nearby and at their level. A place to meet other players, grow your baseball circle, and follow your progress together.
My goal is to build Matchup League into a national brand that helps players like me across the country. I’m building it around something I’ve wanted as a player: more opportunities to connect, compete, and find my next matchup. I want to make that possible for you, too.

Yes. Matchup League is free during the pilot. You do not need an app subscription, a payment method, or a trial enrollment to join. Cage rentals, coaching, and other facility charges are set separately by the venue or provider. Any future paid plans would be announced separately.
What can I do today?
Get started, find players in your area, connect with friends, and explore leaderboards and matchup history. Invite an opponent, record at-bats live or afterward, and both confirm the result before ratings update.
Who is Matchup League for?
Matchup League is for baseball and softball players aged 13 and older: pitchers, hitters, and two-way players. Baseball and softball have separate settings and rankings. Players under 18 need parent or guardian permission to join.
Is it available on iPhone and Android?
The web app works in your phone’s browser and can be added to your home screen. Dedicated iOS and Android apps are in development and are not available in the app stores yet. See how to add the web app.
How do Matchup Rating and EMM work?
Matchup Rating (MR) is a 1–10 player rating, calculated separately for pitching and hitting. It tracks performance across matchups and is separate from a scorecard’s points.
The Expected Matchup Model (EMM) sets expectations using both players’ latest MR when a matchup starts. After both players confirm the scorecard, outcomes are compared with those expectations. Rating uncertainty affects the update, and repeated matchups with the same opponent receive less weight. Badges celebrate milestones without adding rating points.
How does a matchup work?
A matchup starts with agreement on the time, place, number of plate appearances, and scoring rules. Each at-bat goes into a shared scorecard. Both players review and agree on the result before it counts toward their Matchup Ratings. See what’s available today.
How do accounts and privacy work?
Use one Matchup League account, with your email or US phone number and password. Your profile appears in search by default, and you can turn that off in privacy settings. City and state are part of your profile. Device location is optional; coordinates are rounded to your general area before being sent. Participants can see meeting details you enter. Photos, bios, and messages can reveal information you choose to include. Read the privacy policy.
How can I report a concern?
You can block or report people in the app, or report a concern without an account.
